Marle Manson says 'feed them all'. Photo / File

Our reader Merle Manson from Castlecliff let us know what she thinks the Government should be doing regarding food provided for children at school. Read her letter below:

I cannot understand the row over school lunches. It's been proven children learn easier when fed.

I believe every child in New Zealand should be able to partake in school lunches, as those who can't or aren't being fed will be fed in the school system through taxes of the other children's parents who can afford it. Therefore feed them all and no distinction is made to make some feel inferior.

Get on with it, Government. You send heaps of money to those overseas when our own at home should be looked after as well.

You spend millions on sport, which is very unfair when kids need feeding. I know some people have no idea how to handle money and it's spent wrongly.

Other people are in situations through no fault of their own, but it's the kids who suffer and they are blameless in this.
