Whanganui business owners will have the opportunity to speak directly to government agencies at the Small Business Roadshow in town on Friday.
The roadshow started last year to support businesses from around the country, discussing new legislation and answering questions, but this is the first time it has travelled toWhanganui.
Pre online registration is required but the event is free and will take place at the War Memorial Hall from 12pm to 2pm.
The Minister for Small Business Jacqui Dean and Regional Business Partner Peter Ellingham will be speaking at the event. They will be joined by representatives from Inland Revenue, Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment, Worksafe, ACC, the Labour Inspectorate, Ministry of Foregin Affairs and Trade, Immigration and the Ministry of Social Development.
Senior Policy Advisor, Patti Poole, said the aim of the event is to make it easier and more efficient for business owners to deal with government so they can focus on making their business a success.
"We want small businesses to be successful because it helps our economy grow. We know that sometimes interacting with government agencies takes more time than it should," Mr Poole said.
The event is being run in conjunction with the Regional Business Partner, the Central Economic Development Agency (CEDA).
"These events are all about helping link small businesses with government departments, in order to make these interactions easier and less time consuming."
