Charity cheque presentation __ Ruth Fowler of St Vincent de Paul gets cheque from Henry Newrick
Book lovers have helped boost the funds of the Whanganui branch of St Vincent de Paul.
Henry Newrick, publisher of the glossy, 224-page coffee table book on the Whanganui region, From the Sea to the Mountain, was at the St Vincent op shop to present a cheque for $350 to
the charity which aids the vulnerable in the community.
The money comes from advance orders of the book which was offered to Chronicle readers at a discount price of $19.95, with a proportion of each sale going to St Vincent de Paul.
Copies of the book arrive in Whanganui in three weeks and will go on sale at a full price of $24.95.
