Fusion delights are on the menu for customers at new cafe/restaurant The Blend in Victoria Ave.

Husband and wife team Heetaek Oh and Grace Lim, well-known from the Japanese Kitchen WA, are now also operating The Blend. The new restaurant is in the premises formerly occupied by Delicious Cafe.

"We have employed six to seven experienced staff who have moved from Auckland and Grace and I are managing it," Mr Oh said.

"At present we are open Tuesday to Sunday for breakfast and lunch. There's also a large range of drinks to choose from made by our very talented barista from Japan. In mid-November we will open Tuesday to Saturday for dinner."

The evening meals will include fusion-style options with Indian, Thai, Mexican and Italian flavours, as well as New Zealand favourites. There's also a hint of fusion in some of the daytime offerings.

"I'm very excited to be expanding with The Blend as well as continuing to run the Japanese Kitchen WA," Mr Oh said.

"It's been a very busy time getting the new restaurant ready with its lovely interior design and attention to the food. The Japanese Kitchen WA is also busy with lots of bookings coming up before Christmas."

Mr Oh, with business partner Nori Ozaki, has owned the Japanese Kitchen WA since he moved to Whanganui four years ago.
