Expat Wanganui footballer James Musa and his South Melbourne FC team are now just one win away from the PlayStation 4 National Premier League final as they face South Australia's MetroStars Soccer Club on Sunday.

As the Victorian State champions, South Melbourne made the journey to Tasmania last weekend to face South Hobart FC in an elimination playoff, emerging with a hard-fought 1-0 win.

Musa's teammate Jamie Reed scored a spectacular goal via an overhead kick to put them into the semifinals.

The game will be on South Melbourne's home ground at Lakeside Stadium, kickoff 3pm local time.

MetroStars made the semifinal after they defeated Western Australian champions Bayswater City FC 5-4 on penalties in Perth, following a 0-0 draw after normal and extra time.
