Some of the less finely-tuned bodies will be out on the outer grounds of Wembley Park today, as local league football continues in the Men's and Women's competitions.

The men's second division kicks off at 12.30pm with Castlecliff United going up against the City Thirsties.

Both United and the Thirsties were unlucky to go down in their matches during the last round, so both will be hungry to score competition points today.

The High School Internationals face off against the Marist Casuals, who will be sorely missing key squad player John Dale after he broke his arm during their last outing.

This match should provide plenty of goals, with High School having shown they have the players to string together waves of attack, while the Casuals have years of experience and understanding, coming off the back of a victory last round.

Wanganui Collegiate will host the Athletic Weekenders on the school grounds, with Collegiate looking to get their first game of the round under their belt after sitting out the first round with a bye, while the Weekenders will be looking to continue their form against school teams after thumping High School 7-1 in the last round.

At 2.30pm, the first division teams will take to the fields, starting with a club derby match between the wily Athletic Cosmos and the dominant Athletic Reserves.

Cosmos will be pleased with their previous fixture, where they managed to hold Marist Celtic to a 2-all draw, while the Reserves will be licking their lips at the prospect of another big scoreline, coming off the back of last round's 9-0 thrashing of the St John Castlecliff 1sts.

The Cliff 1sts will be wanting to bounce back from last week's defeat, and put the screws on the Marist Bhoys, who were poor in their match against the Castlecliff Saints, going down 5-2.

The Bhoys will be looking for a win and to renew their goal of pushing for a top spot, but the Cliff will not be giving it up easily, and will be wanting to put another Castlecliff victory in the record books as they develop their young side into a force to be reckoned with.

In another big fixture for today, the Total Automotive City Hammers go up against the Marist Celtic, with the Hammers determined to put another piece of silverware in their cabinet this year.

Celtic have had a promising but unfruitful season to date, but the fixture between these two sides always presents plenty of entertaining football, and hard-fought battles.

Castlecliff St Anthony's play their clubmates the Castlecliff Braves in the final match of the day.

The Saints started well with a solid victory, and the Braves, while losing to the Hammers in the last round, showed they are a side to be feared after managing to put three goals past the usually solid Hammers' defence, while unlucky to concede five themselves.

With both teams boasting plenty of pace up front, and the ability to find the back of the net, this should be a goal-fest.

In the women's league, there are three great matchups on offer today.

It opens up with the High School Girls playing the Wanganui City Women.

This match historically has been tight, with both teams holding top spot on the table during the season.

High School currently sit in the top position six points clear of third place City, but a slip up today could let City back into the competition.

The Clive Barritt Builders Marist Women host Wanganui Girls College at 12.30pm, which will give both teams an opportunity to get out there and play the game they love.

This match may not be a battle between the tops sides in the competition, but it will be a spirited affair.

In the final women's match of the day, the Castlecliff Scrappers face Wanganui Collegiate Girls.

Collegiate may be sitting well off the pace in the chase for the lead, but they have the ability today to spoil the chances of the second placed Scrappers.

If the City Women can get up over High School today, and the Scrappers walk away with three points, they will finish the weekend leading the league, with only catchup games left to be played.
