Faulty equipment causes power cut, power restored to 125 St Johns affected households

Around 125 Whanganui households in St John's Hill woke up with no power this morning.

At 5.30am power went out to homes near Victoria Park. A field crew was dispatched to investigae and work is ongoing to replace a piece of switchgear equipment which was found to be faulty.

Backfeeding was put in place in the interim, redirecting power and allowing supply to be restored to all customers by 10.30am.
