The Summer Programme heads to the Wairarapa Coast tomorrow.

The 2015 Whanganui Summer Programme is now under way with the following events on this week. For further information and to book trips, go to the Wanganui i-SITE Visitors' Centre, 31 Taupo Quay, Wanganui or telephone 06 349 0508 to check if space is still available on the trip of your choice. The programme is organised by the Whanganui Summer Programme Trust in partnership with a range of other organisations.

Collection Tour at the Museum
Today
To celebrate summer the Whanganui Regional Museum is offering one-hour tours of the storerooms to see the treasures that tell the story of Whanganui. There are other tours on Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the Summer Programme.

Meet 1pm at Whanganui Regional Museum, Watt St.

Adult $5; Child free. Bookings essential at the i-SITE.

Castlepoint, Wairarapa
Tomorrow
We travel through the Manawatu Gorge to Woodville then on to Tinui, first visiting the Craft Corner with historical information before going to the tavern for a ploughman's lunch (provided). At Castlepoint, we explore the lighthouse and beaches for about two hours. Leader: Esther Williams, Forest and Bird.

Depart 7am; return 6.30pm. Adult $50; Child $30 includes lunch.

Mountain Biking in the Mangapurua
Saturday
Tagged as "the North Island's premier adventure ride" this trip takes you through the historic Mangapurua Valley from the Ruatiti Rd end, over the Bridge to Nowhere before descending down to the Whanganui River for a three-quarter-hour jet boat ride to Pipiriki.

Depart 8am from Raetihi Holiday Park on SH4; return 5.30 pm. Adult/Child 13 years and over: $130.
