Whether you fancy some fabric art, paintings, jewellery, wall hangings, a piece of pottery or a delightful little diorama - you can probably find it at Gallery on Guyton.

Each year, the gallery holds a group exhibition of work by local artists retailing for under $100.

This year's group of artists bring together a wide range of great pieces that can be gifted to friends, loved ones or even yourself.

Whanganui artists Azian Zulkifli, Rere Sutherland, Tracey Young, Fiona McGowan, Christina McGillan, Julz Coffey, Patsy Trail, Lorraine Halliwell and Trish Flutey have all contributed their unique pieces.

Azian Zulkifli's angel earrings in a variety of colours and designs along with her star-shaped harakeke wall hangings have been made with Christmas in mind.

Lovers of beautiful, vintage cloth should find great gifts among Trish Flutey's fabric art and accessories and Julz Coffey's small sculptures and dioramas are small, affordable masterpieces.

Coffey is inspired by found objects in ways that leave others flabbergasted.

"I found that little plastic skeleton lying in the supermarket carpark," she says.

The abandoned Halloween toy now rests in a chest owned by a miniature pirate in one of her pieces.

Old tobacco tins, clothing brushes and furniture leg coasters find new life in her creations and each piece comes with its own short story.

Deck the Walls is open at 62 Guyton St from Wednesday to Saturday, 11am to 4pm until December 23.
