One person killed in crash between truck and van near Levin

Emergency services are at the scene of the crash on Oxford St, Levin.

Police have confirmed a person was killed in a serious crash near Levin this morning.

Emergency services were called to the crash between a truck and van on Oxford St, State Highway 1, just before 7.20am.

Police said one person died at the scene while a second person was transported to hospital with moderate injuries.

SH1 was closed while investigations were carried out but has since reopened.

“The Serious Crash Unit attended and enquiries to determine the circumstances of the crash are ongoing”, police said in a statement.
