There were 53 new community cases of Covid-19 in the Whanganui region, the Ministry of Health reported on Wednesday.

There were three people in Whanganui Hospital with Covid-19, the ministry said.

Nationally, there were 5499 new community cases of Covid-19.

Throughout the country, there were 344 people in hospital with Covid-19.

The ministry reported the deaths of 18 people with Covid-19.
