DOORS SET TO OPEN: Cotton On begins trading in Whanganui today.

Friday's the day shopaholics will finally get to set foot inside the new Cotton On Whanganui Megastore in Victoria Avenue.

Cotton On begins trading Friday with a "grand opening" scheduled for Saturday.

Customer demand has driven the decision to open the Whanganui store, Cotton On New Zealand national retail manager Angela Mana-Tupara said.

"Our customers have been asking for a local Cotton On store in the area and we are always looking for new opportunities to expand our New Zealand store footprint. We are looking forward to bringing Cotton On's signature range of affordable fashion and accessories to the local community."

The megastore stocks the Cotton On, Cotton On Body, Cotton On Kids and Rubi brands.
