It is a quieter Friday evening of greyhound racing at Hatrick this evening as the local club takes a breather from their high profile recent race meetings.

This evening's main open class event is the Liquorland Wanganui C5 305m sprint (Race 5) over the 305m dash.

Totally dominating the market again is the Lisa Cole-prepared sharp sprinter Bigtime Opal.

She slipped through her 305m assignment last Friday in a meet-best 17.26s time.
Bigtime Opal is expected to serve up a repeat dose after jumping from trap three this evening.

It has become situation normal for the Cole kennels, as the main opposition to Bigtime Opal is expected to be provided by her kennelmates.

From out wide, both Bigtime Crackem and Allegro Lass can swoop.

Drawing the rails trap provides Bigtime Shaker with claims of being required to attend the post race podium.

It has been a flying start to the new racing season for Cole.

After mentoring an amazing 713 race winners last season, she has already being required to salute the judge on 59 occasions in the new season, prior to start of yesterday's racing.

The main 520m event this evening is the Adept Accountants C3 520m (Race 10).

It features the at-times brilliant but occasionally erratic Angela Turnwald-prepared Mija Sydney.

He has displayed brilliance when racing at Hatrick, as seen by his swift 29.84s best winning time over 520m.

Mija Sydney demolished his 520m rivals by a 13.25 length margin in a 30.18s meet best time for 520m last Friday.

He then backed up at the Manawatu Raceway on Monday over 457m, where he basically didn't want to be there.

Drawing out in trap eight this evening suggests Mija Sydney can nail his sixth Hatrick 520m win in his seventh race here.

Bigtime On Fire is a Cole-trained chaser who is returning here after delivering her bold Manukau $8,400 feature 527m third last Sunday which was stylishly taken out by a freakish young greyhound.

Another Cole runner Bigtime Lady deserves consideration here, while the nicely drawn Cawbourne Foxy can make her presence felt from the one trap for her conditioner Pippa Morris.
