The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter flew a young boy from Raetihi to Whanganui Hospital on Sunday.

A 2-year-old boy is in a comfortable condition in Whanganui Hospital after being kicked by a horse.

The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter was called to pick up the boy in Raetihi at 10am on Sunday, September 23.

He was treated at the scene by the onboard intensive care paramedic then airlifted to Whanganui Hospital.

A hospital spokeswoman said on Monday the child was in a comfortable condition.
