Bryony Williams will feature in Luck of the Irish at the Whanganui War Memorial Centre in February.

Fresh from performing as in New Plymouth Operatic Society's Mary Poppins musical, Bryony Williams joins the Operatunity cast to celebrate all things Irish at the Whanganui War Memorial Centre in February.

Williams joins fiddler extraordinaire Jess Hindin and Operatunity's core team of Sue Boland, John Cameron, Bonaventure Allan-Moetaua & Karl Perigo.

Born in Canterbury, England, Williams has had a highly successful music career in England and New Zealand.

After studying at the New Zealand School of Music, Williams completed a bachelor of music and postgraduate diploma in classical voice.

She has performed several famous roles such as Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream, the title role in Handel's Alcina, Ino in Semele, and most recently Mary in Mary Poppins with the New Plymouth Operatic Society.

She has also performed at venues all over the world, including the Sydney Opera House, Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, the Oxford Lieder Festival, a UK and Ireland tour performing La Traviata, and the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in Der Rosenkavalier.

Williams has received scholarships from the IFAC Australian Singing Competition and the Sir John Fisher Foundation, and was the winner of the 2013 Frederic Cox Award and the Joyce & Michael Kennedy Award for the Singing of Strauss.

Currently in England rehearsing for the Thursford Christmas Spectacular, before returning to New Zealand in the new year, Williams will perform at 23 centres as part of the Luck of the Irish tour.
