WANTED a young female singer who can imitate the voices of a range of singers.
The songtress is being sought by Wanganui Repertory Theatre for the lead in its 2006 Wanganui Arts Festival play.
Titled Little Voices, the play is the comedy drama West End (London) box office hit which was subsequently
made into a film of the same name starring Michael Caine.
Joan Street, who will direct the play, said it told the story of a young shy girl, who has the ability to imitate the singers whose voices she listens to all day in her room.
"When her hilarious yet pathetic mother and her rough boyfriend Ray Say realise this they see in her the potential to make big money. A strong cast is required and audition will be by appointment.
"As well as a young female singer we need a young man, the mother of Little Voice and her rough boyfriend. Also the owner of the local club, a fat girlfriend of the mother and a local workman."
The play will be rehearsed from now until December with a January break and plays in mid-March.
Mrs Street can be contacted on telephone 3459906 to arrange an audition time.
