Ballance and Summit Quinphos customers in South Taranaki now have greater access to a broader range of products and increased services following the redevelopment of the Waverley Consignment Store.
Expanding the facility improves the variety of products available to customers in the region and helps reduce cartage costs by bringing a
wider range of fertiliser products closer to the farm gate.
The work to double the capacity of the store at R&L Freight on SH 3 in Waverley has been under way over the past five months, in time to ensure farmers had an increased array of products available before the start of their autumn fertiliser regimes.
Ballance products have been available at the store for the last three years and now the Summit Quinphos range of fertilisers have also been added to the mix.
The new fully-enclosed facility has 10 bays up from five which are able to store 1200 tonnes of fertiliser.
Apart from boosting its size and product availability, the store now offers a mixing plant to supply blended product to specific customer requirements and a weigh bridge for accurate loading of trucks, a company spokesman said.
The official opening of the improved site is on March 16.
