Everyone who buys a copy of the book before Christmas is in the draw for a bumper hamper

Everyone who buys a copy of the book before Christmas is in the draw for a bumper hamper

Over 12 months in the making, the long-awaited 224-page coffee table book on Whanganui, From the Sea to the Mountain, launches in just three weeks.

The hard-cover, full-colour book will be officially unveiled on Thursday, November 15, with an event at Heritage House.

Books will be available for collection or posting over the following days, and all purchasers will be advised of collection points around Whanganui.

More than 2200 copies have already been sold and it is anticipated that the first print run may sell out before Christmas. A reprint is planned but copies will not be in Whanganui until the new year.

Anyone wanting to have a look at the book before deciding whether to buy can see an advance copy at the Whanganui Chronicle office on the corner of Guyton and St Hill Sts, and they can order copies at the Chronicle office if they have cash or a cheque.

At just $24.95, From the Sea to the Mountain shows off Whanganui in all its glory and is a wonderful insight into the region's many attractions.

Many people have bought multiple copies to give away as Christmas presents, and publisher Henry Newrick if offering a fifth book free to anyone who buys four copies.

In addition, everyone who buys a copy before December 15 will be entered into the publisher's draw for a Christmas hamper worth $150.
