Whanganui's Rod Bannister teamed with Southland's Shane Hatwell to win the won the Men's Over 50 title at the 2018 NZ Doubles Championships, held at the National Squash Centre in Mt Albert just over a week ago.
It was the weekend after Bannister's daughter Aria and Thor Darlington, both 10,represented Central Squash in a junior meeting against Eastern Squash.
Eastern won the tie 20-18.
Upcoming on the local scene is the Whanganui Open, being held at the Wanganui Squash Club on Bassett St, April 19-20.
A club junior team will also be travelling to the Central Region Tournament in Hawera on May 18-19.
