The bowmen of the Wanganui Archery Club were all on the mark at the 43rd Archery NZ National Indoor Championships in Palmerston North at the weekend.

There were 150 archers competing at the B&M Ballroom inside Arena Manawatu.

Three Wanganui club members competed in the various men's compound bow divisions and each came third overall.

Phil Murphy was third in the men's senior, while veteran Peter Wheeldon earned the same in the Masters 50 class.

Facing some of the top archers in the country in his grade, Tim Warren earned third place in the men's matchplay.
