Save About hundred people turned up to protest about 1080 outside the Orillion factory in Heads Rd, Whanganui on Saturday.
The protest hikoi was organised by the Anti 1080 Action Ruapehu group, and it began at Otoko Marae on the Parapara on Friday.
The group assembled at Pakaitore (Moutua Gardens) on
Saturday morning before taking their protest to Orillion which is believed to make 1080 baits.
The group oppose the use of baits and aerial drops of 1080 by the Department of Conservation.
DoC uses 1080 to control pests, but opponents say it is harmful to people and other animals.
