City car dealer adds Ssangyong franchise

David Jones Motors has added diesels, utilities and people movers to its vehicle range by taking on the Ssangyong franchise for Wanganui.
Owner David Jones said the mid-Victoria Ave vehicle company already sold and serviced Suzuki vehicles and their parts, adding Ssangyong meant it could stock diesel SUVs, well-sided, flat deck and double-cab utilities and seven-seater cars.
The franchise was about a month old and was going well so far, with two utilities sold.
A small range of Ssangyong parts would be available and Mr Jones' two mechanics had been trained in Ssangyong servicing.
Ssangyong is the longest surviving vehicle brand in Korea. It has been making SUVs for more than 30 years. Taupo Mayor Rick Cooper owns the New Zealand Ssangyong franchise.
