Christine and Neil are a long way from their home town of Langholm but, after 26 years in New Zealand, home is now Turakina, where they have created their own piece of Scotland.
Scotty's Gift and Collectibles lets shop space in Walsh's Turakina Antiques and Collectibles building on State Highway 3.
"We
complement each other," Mrs Boyd said. They stock everything Scottish and Celtic and, if they don't have it, they'll get it, she says.
Scotty's sells haggis, black pudding, and Lorne sausage from Waikanae. It also has mouth-watering Edinburgh castle rock, or in a stick, Ross's dairy fudge, and Tunnock's snowballs, caramel wafers and tea cakes that were made in Glasgow, butterscotch and mints.
Scotty's also boasts Mr Boyd's highly prized and impressive collection of "anything and everything to do with Robert Burns", a royal wedding section of china, clan badges, sash brooches, grouse claws, Border Fine Arts from Langholm, Irish Wade pottery and kilts.
