It was a mad mile for the Wanganui Harrier Club's standouts during the club's annual Mile Race along Kaimatira Rd, Okoia, on Saturday.
Cross country specialist Christian Conder was first home in the men's race, including adjustments for handicap times, followed by Louie Hogan, then veteran runner Josh Payne.
Thomas Conder and Liam Jones rounded out the top five for line honours, while Conder family members took out four placings in the top ten.
Damien Wood was comfortable winner of the mile walk, followed by Kate Quigley then Peter Monrad.
Weather conditions for the late September race were pleasantly warm and calm, which was an advantage for the Harriers as this yearly race is usually run in blustery conditions.
