The box draw for tomorrow evening's main Hatrick C4/5 520m event (Race 10) certainly has turned the race into an even, competitive looking affair.

Last Friday's bold pace-making open class 520m 30.40s winner Blazin' Carter moves out to trap eight.

He is proven from that trap, however he must adopt those same pace-making tactics if he's going to repeat here for his trainer Lisa Cole.

The Matt Roberts-prepared Dyna Vernon cops a tough draw for his open class debut here.

He produced last week's meeting-best 520m time when he clocked 30.32s for his C3/4 win.

He is required to exit from the tricky five trap for this assignment.

Adding the intrigue factor to this field is the presence of the NZ-debuting former Aussie chaser Hey Fernando.

He had been matching his paws against some of the top rated Victorian greyhounds, prior to crossing the Tasman to enter the Gary and Sandra Fredrickson Foxton based kennels.

Hey Fernando delivered an okay 305m trial here last week.

The one trap draw is likely to favour the Marcie Flipp-trained Idol Dude, while the stake earning claims that the Cole-mentored pair of Bigtime Levi and Ask King Jeff cannot be lightly dismissed here.

Cossie Cooper caught the eye in the strong manner he finished last Friday to claim his 4.75 length third to Blazin' Carter for his local conditioner Lisa Olden.

A similar finish can be expected by him tomorrow evening.

Special forces veteran shares recollections

Cole is returning her sharp Group 1 Railway Sprint 318m runner up Bigtime Wendle to racing this evening.

She has drawn nicely in the two trap for her race 5 C4/5 305m dash.

Looking to make a paw wrestle of it with her are the Flipp-trained pair of sprinters Idol Nifty and Idol Hot.

Both of them are proven 305m sprinters at this venue.

There's a bonus TAB $5,000 injection into the late Quaddie (Races 9-12) with the first leg looking to be a rather even looking contest.

Appealing as a potential Quaddie anchor in the Race 11 C2/3 305m sprint is Queen Big League.

The Fredrickson's returned her to racing at the Manawatu Raceway on Monday afternoon, where she cruised away from her C3 rivals when delivering her tidy pace-making 23.42s win over 410m.

Queen Big League now benefits from a bonus C3 sprint here and she is poised to capitalise on her bonus opportunity from the three trap.
