Whanganui District councillors votes will now be recorded as a matter of course.
The issue was raised by the Chronicle and its readers this month following a split vote to accept late submissions to council's long term plan.
As per standing orders, councillors' individual votes on items were only recorded if a division was called or a councillor requested their vote was recorded.
It meant there was no way the public could access a record of how councillors voted on some issues.
The Chronicle wrote to the council this month requesting votes be recorded.
