Whanganui High School sent a 16-person strong motocross team to the Rotorua Schools Motocross event last Friday.

Spokesman Antony Rountree said it is the biggest school event in the country with over 240 riders from more than 40 schools taking part.

When collective scores were added together, WHS finished in a highly creditable sixth place.
Gaining top 10 placings were Ajah Sullivan (girls class) and Jaxon Watt (boys 13-16 class), who both came ninth.

James Rountree had a very strong day – coming fourth in the boys 15-18 years class and then also riding in the 250cc 4-stroke class, where he finished sixth.

The team was: Jaxon Watt, Riki Wainhouse, Michael Ross, Alex Luff Scott, Tom Gilligan, Scott Emmerson, Flynn Phillips, Troy Bullock, Logan Smith, James Rountree, Layton Malinder, Jack Nayler, Ben Emmerson, Blake Rountree, Ajah Sullivan, Olly Dennison.
