Whanganui Film Society's Monday night screening is another offering from the Goethe Institiut.
24 Weeks (24 Wochen) is a 2016 German film by director Anne Zohra Berrached which tackles a difficult storyline head-on.
The film's main character is a pregnant stand-up comic who must make a tough decision with her longtime boyfriend/manager.
"The second feature from Anne Zohra Berrached addresses one of the most difficult decisions that a woman may have to make in her life," wrote Wendy Ide of Screendaily.
"Astrid (Julia Jentsch) must choose whether or not to have a late term abortion when she discovers that her unborn child's health is severely compromised.
