The Whanganui Literary Festival is offering a range of fun activities for children during the school holidays.
The programmes are run in conjunction with the Whanganui Regional Museum, the Sarjeant Gallery and Davis Library.
Beginning on Monday, children can choose from a range of fun book-themed craft activities - making their own paper, a pop-up book or marbled end-papers; bookbinding; printmaking; and illuminated manuscripts.
Most of the classes are held at the museum's classroom in Watt; although the pop-up book class will be held at Sarjeant On The Quay in Taupo Quay. All the activities are free, although koha/donations are welcome. Bookings are required for all activities.
The children's programme runs alongside the main programme of the Whanganui Literary Festival. This year, the festival brings writers such as C.K. Stead, Roger Hall, Fiona Farrell, Jo Seagar, Nick Bollinger, Selina Tusitala Marsh and Sarah Laing to Whanganui.
