It was a record-breaking crowd that passed through Whanganui's Jubilee Stadium on Saturday for the seventh Wanganui Chronicle Home Show, organiser Amanda Wood said.
Holding it in Springvale Park on the same weekend as the MTA Centennial Car Show boosted numbers for both.
"We would normally have 10,000 for the weekend. On Saturday alone we had 6500," Mrs Wood said.
The home show had 100 stands, with everything from cheesecake to spa pools for sale. Other stands promoted services offered - such as Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) virtual reality headgear helping people learn how to escape a fire and the Salvation Army promoting its welfare work.
Then there were politicians' stands. Deputy Prime Minister Paula Bennett was at National Party candidate Harete Hipango's stand on Saturday morning.
