Whanganui based landscape printmaker Sue Cooke has been having a busy time in the northern hemisphere.
June saw Cooke selected for the 37th Mini Print International of Cadaques 2017 in Spain, taking up a position as artist in residence at the Gamli Skoli on the island of Hrisey in Iceland and exhibiting in the Icelandic Akureyri Arts Festival.
In July she was International artist in residence at the London Print Studios and she has just been in Christchurch for the opening of her Beech at Ohau exhibition at Chambers Art Gallery.
"In Iceland, the Gamli Skoli Arthouse artist in residence programme selects four international artists to spend a month living and working on the island Hrisey, in a converted old school house," says Cooke.
"The island is in the north-west of Iceland in Eyjafjörður, a fjord measuring 15km wide and 60km long.
