A spate of minor burglaries at sport and service clubs has prompted Whanganui police to ask club members and the public to be vigilant.
Several clubs and a church have been targeted over recent weeks with cash and food taken.
In most cases the premises have been secure and offenders have broken in, causing damage and leaving clubs with repair bills.
Senior Sergeant Andrew McDonald urged club members to check on premises if driving past on their way home from work or elsewhere.
"A quick check to see the premises are secure would be helpful and if there's anyone suspicious hanging around then let us know," Mr McDonald said. Descriptions and vehicle number plates should be noted.
