RSA gets extra funds to support veterans

The RSA has been given extra funding to help with support services.

The Minister of Veterans' Affairs Craig Foss announced last week a grant of a $175,000 for the RSA and its support services programme.

RSA Whanganui secretary manager Kyle Dalton says the support advisors are RSA volunteers who make sure veterans can get support for everything from licences to wills.

"It is used for finding them mobility scooters and helping them out at Winz, to making veterans' affairs applications ... anything you can think of, really."

He said the money will give them the resources they need to help veterans.

"It will be paying for things like cellphones, fuel, things like that."
