With 10 days left to vote in the local body elections, voters are slowly returning their voting papers.
Whanganui electoral officer Noeline Moosman said that as of 9am on September 28, 8100 voting papers had been returned.
"For the same period in the 2013 elections the numbers were 8575," Ms Moosman said.
Voting closes on October 8, at 12 noon. To ensure your vote is returned in time, you must put your voting papers in the mail by October 5. Voting papers can also be returned in person to the council buildings, 101 Guyton St.
