The final pieces are falling into place for this year's version of The Great Jigsaw Whanganui Cook Off.
Last year, the inaugural event was dubbed The Great Whanganui Whitebait Cook Off but this year's earlier time slot has prompted organisers to alter the menu to feature two other iconic Kiwi seafood staples - oysters and mussels.
Jigsaw executive director Tim Metcalfe said this year's theme is "A Night at the Bach" and will again be held in the Wanganui War Memorial Hall at 7pm on Saturday, June 30.
"Last year, about 200 people supported the night, but now word is out about its success we're aiming to at least double that number this year. We hope everyone gets right behind the theme of the night and dress up," Mr Metcalfe said.
Sixteen teams battled it out last season and were given just 20 minutes to whip up and present their creations before judges.
