The competition will be fast and furious at the Perry NZ Wheelchair Tennis Open in Hamilton this weekend.
Players from Japan, Australia and throughout New Zealand, including two of the world's top 20 players, will compete for US$10,000 in prize money.
The competition, which is part of the NEC Wheelchair
Tennis Tour, is at Waikato Tennis Centre in Dey St, Hamilton East.
NZ Wheelchair Tennis secretary Tiffiney Perry said the competition began in Hamilton as a regular wheelchair tennis tournament 13 years ago and seven years ago became the New Zealand Open.
Insufficient entries means there is no women's competition this year but there is a full men's draw and another for quadriplegic players.
