Three Waikato combat sports athletes are preparing for big competitions.

Titus Proctor will next month fight for his second world title, while Alejandro Tellez and Isaac Tshikula will compete at the King in the Ring kickboxing event this weekend.

Proctor, 21, already holds the World Kickboxing Federation (WKBF) World Middleweight title, but he now aims for the WBC Muay Thai World Super Middleweight title.

Proctor will take on reigning champion Daniel Bonner, 32, from England.

Proctor said the upcoming world title fight was “massive” for him.

“It’s the next step in my journey to the top, and everything feels like it’s lining up.

“I’m proud of the performance I put on at One Lumpini, and I’m training hard for December. Daniel Bonner is a tough champion, but I’m ready.”

At the historical Lumpinee Stadium in Thailand, Proctor knocked out Liu Quan in the third round.

Having won the fight could eventually lead to a long-term deal with One Championships, however, for now, Proctor has his eyes on his second world title.

Bonner holds two world titles: the WMO World Light Heavyweight title and the WBC World Super Middleweight title.

Having 49 fights to his name, 41 wins and 8 losses, makes him a very dangerous and experienced opponent.

Hamilton fighter Titus Proctor, who recently won the WKBF World Middleweight title, is now getting ready for his second world title.

Bonner is already looking past Proctor as he is booked to fight ISKA World champion Joakim Hagg in April 2026, with his WMO world title on the line.

Meanwhile, the King in the Ring kickboxing tournament, will be for the lightweight 62kg division and take place in Auckland.

Tellez, 22, of Hamilton, has had an impressive career so far, holding several New Zealand titles, including WKBF Youth Welterweight title, ISKA Adult Lightweight title, and AMTA Adult Pro Lightweight title.

He has a record of 32 wins and 9 losses.

Isaac Tshikula, 21, also of Hamilton, is a regional and national champion.

He is known for his fast and unpredictable fighting style. He comes with a record of 18 wins and 8 losses.

Other fighters joining the King in the Ring tournament include Dominic Reed, Ongjaneh Rott, Waelin Kerekere and Zion Perry.
