The Chiefs player of the day, as voted by fans online, was Gareth Anscombe when the reigning champions hammered the Cheetah 45-3.

He landed every penalty and conversion he attempted and converted his try.

Anscombe has 41 points in the last two games. Another stand-out was lock Brodie Retallick, who was everywhere and displayed a huge work rate.

The Chiefs will play the Stormers in Cape Town at 4.05am on Sunday and the Kings at Port Elizabeth the following Saturday at 6.10am NZ time

Bundee Aki has been cleared to play after a heavy knock to his leg during the game against the Cheetahs.
