Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic have secured a home semifinal after thrashing the Northern Mystics in Tauranga last night.
It was a scrappy first half that saw both sides throw away a lot of ball.
The Mystics suffered an early blow after star shooter Bailey Mes had to go off
with a twisted knee.
Magic put their foot down in the third quarter to lead at the break 48-29.
They stretched the lead in the final quarter to take the match 68-40, edging ahead of the Queensland Firebirds' average total points by a whisker to take third position heading into the finals.
