Hamilton boxer Sheilla Yama has risen in the December edition of the world boxing bodies rankings, however, she is still struggling to find an opponent.

Yama has been introduced into the World Boxing Association rankings, where she is ranked 9th in the Super Lightweight division.

This comes after she was introduced into the World Boxing Council rankings, where she is ranked 19th in the Super Lightweight division.

She has slipped in the Boxrec rankings, going from 15th to 19th, due to more fighters being able to secure fights.

Yama has been forced to be inactive as no one wants to fight her.

She had been scheduled to fight for the WBA Oceania Super Lightweight title on December 13 at the BX-9 event.

However, after months of searching for an opponent, BX-9 promoter Oz Jabur has decided to call it quits for this time around.

Jabur, with help from big matchmakers, has looked across the world for an opponent, including Australia, New Zealand, China, and the USA.

On four different occasions, a fight was secured, but the opponents ended up pulling out due to injury or money.

However, Jabur is committed to finding Yama an opponent for the next BX-9 event in Auckland, expected to be held between March and May.
