Photographer Quinn O'Connell and Katie Horrocks have created the perfect Mount pad for work and play. The home contains a photo studio and office for Katie, who works late into the night balancing the business with being busy mum to India-Rose 4; Summer 2 and Skye-Florence, 4 months. We chat to Quinn.

We lived in London and travelled in Europe for many years before returning to the Bay to set up the business and raise our children.

Having the studio at home is great. Katie has an office next door to the studio and handles the business side. We tried working in the same room, but whereas we live in harmony, we work better apart!

We saw this house in an auction and we were lucky to have an offer accepted before it went to auction. We fell in love with the French doors, the decking and the wooden floors. We really haven't done that much to it other than paint and have curtains made. Our own stuff just fitted here well. We brought a few pieces back from the UK like the table. We also went on a buying trip to Morocco as we love that style. The leather poufs are from Morocco and the jewelled lantern outside. The photos on the wall are ours. The photo of the boats was a photo of Katies's taken in Italy which was in the cupboard for a long time - I had it framed as a present.

We have white sofas which is crazy really with the kids but we love the light effect it has. We went for a woollen floor rug is so the girls have something soft on the floor. They also love Nana's alpaca which we have borrowed for a photo shoot. When not working I like to just hang out with the girls and play the guitar - they seem to like my singing which is good. We are busy with the girls so often work and edit at night.

We don't go out much at the moment as we are in baby zone, still up doing night feeds with Skye-Florence. We are lucky that our friends invite us around. People always ask me if I photograph my own family a lot. I don't actually shoot the girls as much as people think, Katie mainly takes photos of them. We do children's portraits and like to make it fun for people which relaxes the kids.

The work I love doing is editorial work with magazines. I also love working with the architects in town - the Bay has outstanding architects. It is a great opportunity to photograph amazing houses to showcase design features. I have photographed some outstanding homes, but for me our house is the one I always want to come home to. We are very happy here.
