A man accused of stabbing a Hamilton man made an emotional appearance when he appeared in court today.
Kelvin Thomas Marshall Barton, a shearer living in Gore, burst into tears when he saw his family and friends standing in the public gallery of the Hamilton District Court this morning.
Barton,
29, faces a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after an alleged stabbing at a house in Langdon Ln, Melville, about 10.15pm on Saturday.
Barton and the Hamilton victim are known to each other.
A man, who the Herald believes is the victim, was also in the gallery with family, and was carrying a drip containing what appeared to be blood as well as a hospital issue pillow. The man had bandages on his hands and a bandage on his chest.
