Waikato gangster caught showering fully clothed after alleged offending

A Waikato gangster was caught showering fully clothed when police came to arrest him for his alleged offending.

Senior Sergeant Christina Shaw said one of her dog handlers, Constable Scott Crowe, tracked the man with his dog Jordy.

It was Crowe’s second shift as a police dog handler after only recently graduating from Police College.

The man was arrested and charged with dangerous driving, breaching bail and failing to stop for police.

Police spotted a “vehicle of interest” at 3.25am on Ashurst Ave in Pukete yesterday.

Officers signalled for him to pull over, but he allegedly continued driving.

Shaw said police did not start a chase for safety reasons, but officers noted the car’s details.

Police spotted the car again on Ronald St. Only one person was in the car, and they denied being the driver, Shaw said.

So Crowe and his dog Jordy tracked the alleged offender to a house nearby where they found him showering completely clothed.

The 33-year-old man was arrested and put before the Hamilton District Court yesterday.

Shaw praised Crowe and Jordy: “This was an excellent example of a well-coordinated response to some dangerous behaviour in our community.”
