Waikato: One dead, three injured in Waipā crash

One person has died following a crash in the Waikato.

The two-vehicle crash on Arapuni Rd in the Waipā district was reported just after 8.40pm last night.

Police said this morning that one person died at the scene and three others had serious injuries.

Arapuni Rd remained closed near Monckton Rd this morning while a scene examination was carried out.

RNZ reported earlier that five people had been injured.

It reported that one person was airlifted to Waikato Hospital in a critical condition, and two others were also taken to Waikato Hospital with serious injuries.
