One person has died and another has been injured in a two-car crash in Waikato.
Emergency teams were called to a crash on State Highway 26 at Newstead, east of Hamilton, about 11:20pm yesterday.
A person in one of the vehicles died at the scene, while the occupant of the
other vehicle had moderate to serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
SH26 remains closed, and the Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
