Vehicle rolls on Kawhia Rd near Ōtorohanga, highway lane partially blocked

Emergency services at the scene after a minibus flipped on State Highway 39, just outside of Ōtorohanga. Video / Michael Morrah, Katie Harris

A vehicle flipped just north of Ōtorohanga after a driver failed to negotiate a bend and struck a power pole.

Fire and Emergency said they were called to a van rolling and partially blocking a State Highway 39 lane.

A witness told the Herald the driver misjudged the bend and lost control.

They also said the driver lived in the vehicle.

Police said the incident wason Kawhia Rd about 11.50am. There were no reports of injuries.

Hato Hone St John said a patient was assessed at the scene but did not require transport to hospital.
