The trial date for a woman accused of the murder of a man has been pushed out until February next year.

Carol Takua Waa, 61, has pleaded not guilty to murdering Gerald Wiremu Waa in a Te Aroha St, Hamilton, flat on Saturday, March 11.

Carol Waa re-appeared in the High Court at Hamilton this morning via audio visual link.

Crown prosecutor Ross Douch informed Justice Sarah Katz they would need to extend the initial trial date of August 28 out to February 26, next year as they were yet to receive all the forensic reports needed for their case.

The trial has been set down for five days.
