State Highway 29 has re-opened after multiple trucks were “stuck” over the Kaimai Range this morning.

A police spokesman said at least 10 trucks were affected and the cause was an oil or diesel spill from a vehicle.

A written police statement said the trucks had “become stuck” on the range, which is between the Bay of Plenty and Waikato.

Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency said the highway was now open and traffic management had been lifted.
