Waikato crash: Two dead in State Highway 2 collision at Karangahake

Two people have died after a crash on State Highway 2 at Karangahake.

Police were called to the crash between Jackson and Rahu Rds about 11.40pm.

“A car collided with a power pole and tragically both the driver and passenger were killed,” police said this morning.

NZ Transport Agency said SH2 Karangahake between SH26 and Rahu Rd had reopened.

Inquiries into the crash were under way.
