The Rugby League World Cup trophy will tour Hamilton tomorrow, giving locals the chance to see and take a photo with the cup.

The Paul Barriér Cup will be on display at the Frankton Markets between 9am and 11am, Te Awa the Base from 1pm to 2.30pm before finishing the day at the Hamilton Night Markets, from 5pm to 8pm.

Tickets for the two games scheduled for Hamilton will also be on sale. Hamilton will host to two blockbuster matches in this year's Rugby League World Cup.

Pacific rivals Samoa and Tonga will face off on November 4 before the New Zealand Kiwis come to town, to take on Tonga on November 11.

In a curtain raiser for the the Samoa v Tonga match at Waikato Stadium, the Kiwi Ferns (New Zealand women's rugby league team) will play the New Zealand Maori Wahine Toa in a warm-up match for the Women's Rugby League World Cup to be contested in Australia later in the year.

Sean Murray, Hamilton City Council's events, venues and tourism general manager, says the Kiwi Ferns v Wahine Toa match makes Hamilton an even more attractive option for rugby league fans in the upper North Island.

Ticket prices start from $10 for kids, $20 for adults and $45 for a family of four. For more information on the tournament, head to RLWC2017.com
